Kunos Simulazioni started 2024 with a bang with their release of 6 new cars in the brand-new GT2 DLC, set to be a brilliant change of pace with the high power, low downforce track monsters. However, what most people didn’t expect was Red Bull Ring to be added to Assetto Corsa Competizione. Red Bull Ring is a track that screams modernity, owing to the many renovations done to make the track how it is today. The track is known for its fast straights, elevation changes, and tricky corners and makes for a brilliant challenge to race not only the brand-new GT2 cars but also the GT3 cars too.

WHICH CARS ARE INCLUDED IN THE RELEASE?

MASERATI MC20 GT2

The Maserati MC20 GT2, based on the MC20 road car and heavily inspired by the iconic Maserati 250F, is a car that will be music to people’s ears when driving it. With a 3.0L V6 engine that pumps out a generous 630hp, the Maserati provides a solid platform to hop into and race with. This car will prove to be highly popular with Italian fans of the sim.

AUDI R8 LMS GT2

With its 640hp 5.2L naturally-aspirated V10 engine, the Audi is set to pack an almighty punch on any track you race it on. The most powerful car in the Audi Sport customer racing program, the car has a power-to-weight ratio of around 2.1hp/kg, making for a thrilling driving experience. A unique feature is the roof-mounted air intake, which is part of the extensive aerodynamic package that the car has. The Audi will be a force to reckon with on track for sure.

KTM X-BOW GT2

The KTM X-Bow GT2 truly encapsulates sleekness and speed. With its carbon-fibre monocoque, which weighs a low 80kg, and a 2.5L turbocharged five-cylinder engine, the X-Bow is an agile car that is perfect for a track day or a race. The car has 700 horsepower and over 700 Nm of torque which, with the weight of the car which is around 1000 kg, produces just under 2hp/kg. This makes the car the superior option for setting overtakes up on other cars around you.

MERCEDES-AMG GT2

The Mercedes-AMG GT2 will be a staunch favourite for those who prefer the handling of a front-engined car. The 4.0-litre V8 biturbo engine that can produce up to 707 horsepower will provide you with the signature V8 grunt that accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in less than 3 seconds. The Mercedes will definitely be a staunch favourite among German automobile enthusiasts on Assetto Corsa Competizione.

PORSCHE 991II GT2 RS CS EVO

Based on the high-performance 991-generation 911 GT2 RS, the ClubSport Evo sports an electrifying twin-turbocharged 3.8-litre flat-six engine that is sure to be difficult to contend with. With the wide array of aerodynamic changes made to its predecessor including a redesigned front splitter and a brand-new higher Gurney flap on the rear wing, the car has a much more stable platform to push your limits.

PORSCHE 935

Paying tribute to the legendary 935/78 Le Mans racer, Moby Dick, the Porsche 935 brings out a unique car shape that screams bold. With a 3.8L twin-turbo engine that has roughly 700 horsepower, the car demonstrates the fact that Porsche had one goal in mind, to produce a thoroughbred racing machine. The car, in real life, was only produced 77 times, making it a highly sought-after collectors item. However, every sim-racing enthusiast has the chance to drive it, in any track you please!
