What is the US Track Pass?
The first US Track Pass brings two officially licensed, laser-scanned American circuits: Daytona International Speedway, home of the Rolex 24 with its high banks and infield, and WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca with its famous Corkscrew. Both are on the IMSA calendar and fit Hypercars, LMP2 and GT3, so this is the first properly representative American road racing content in LMU.

Good to know: this is Pack 1 of 3. Packs 2 and 3 are expected late Q3 and late Q4 2026, for 6 US tracks total. DLCs now include tracks only, no cars, bringing the game to 20 tracks by the end of the year.
What changed in the online system?
The whole online layer has been rebuilt, and it’s free for everyone.
- Protests, rebuilt: file a protest straight from the replay, flag the timestamp, tag the driver and add notes. Stewards review with the replay already attached, so decisions are faster and better informed.
- New rules: the cooldown is gone, but protests must be filed within 24 hours. You get 3 per month, and your credit is returned for every successful protest. Only intentional wrecks are protestable outside championships.
- LiveSteward: refined to cut false positives. Park your car for too long and you get moved to the garage, so no more wrecks sitting on the racing line.
- RaceOS and new netcode: Studio 397 replaced a third-party component with their own online services layer, and moved the netcode from TCP to Reliable UDP for cleaner wheel-to-wheel racing. Quitting mid-race to dodge damage or penalties no longer works.
Heads up: expect an extended maintenance window at launch and possible teething issues in the first weeks as the new online layer settles in.
What is the Event Joker, and who gets it?
The Event Joker lets you wipe the Driver Rank and Safety Rating impact of a single race, played from the Event Results screen. It is available to every player, not a paid or Pro-only feature.
- Earn your first Joker after 10 races, the second after 20, the third after 30. You can hold a maximum of 3 at once.
- Single-driver events only, not team races. The race still counts as a championship attempt, so it can’t be farmed for results.
Worth knowing: community reaction is genuinely split. Some fear it lowers driving standards, others welcome the insurance. Either way, it’s there for everyone now.
What changed in the physics?
The physics changes are the ones most likely to affect how your car feels on track.- Brake thermal overhaul: the disc surface and core are now simulated separately, with better real-world correlation. Braking is more consistent and pedal feel is sharper, most noticeable on LMP3, LMP2 and some Hypercars.
- Tyre damping: more rolling resistance at low load, less at high load. In practice, that means less heat down the straights and more top speed.
- Hypercar tyre diameter: the dynamic tyre diameter is improved for more accurate engine RPM at speed, so it’s worth rechecking your gearing.
- Tyre wear and grip: reduced rear tyre wear on Hypercars, with cold tyre grip adjusted to match 2026 real-life compounds.
- Punctures: physically modelled punctures added, plus improved rim heat calculation in the wet.
Setup impact: brake thermals, tyre damping and the new Hypercar tyre diameter all affect your setups. Your existing setups and gearing may need a recheck after the patch. Our LMU setups are updated for V1.4.
What is new for VR in V1.4?
VR already worked in LMU, but you had to go through the third-party OpenXR Toolkit. V1.4 adds native OpenXR support, so it is built in now, and you can scale horizontal and vertical render FOV straight from the graphics settings instead of relying on the Toolkit. AMD FSR 1.0 is added too and works on Nvidia cards, with roughly a 10 to 20 FPS gain reported on an RTX 4080 Super. This part was not even announced.One caveat: this alone won’t lock 90 FPS in VR. Daytona at night and Le Mans still drop frames heavily. If you run VR, our VR overlays guide pairs perfectly with the new native OpenXR support.
What’s new for Le Mans and the cars?
Le Mans is updated to the 2026 event, free for everyone, with around 124 individual changes to flags, barriers, floodlights, grandstands and night lighting. Several curb profiles were reworked and lowered, including Arnage, Indianapolis, Mulsanne, the Ford Chicane, the Porsche Curves and the Corvette Curves.
- New and updated cars: Cadillac V-Series.R Evo added, plus final 2026 car updates and Alpine A424 joker updates.
- BOP: weight reduction for GT3s at Le Mans, and an improved LMH vs LMDh acceleration balance.
- BMW M4 LMGT3: differential updated to newer spec, with preload adjustability opened up.
- Gearing: Ferrari 296 LMGT3, Mercedes-AMG LMGT3 and the Aston Martin Valkyrie (Le Mans) all get 2026 gear ratio updates.
- Oreca 07 LMP2: +7kg to match minimum driver weight, gear ratio set limited to Le Mans, and a tyre heating fix.
- Damage: reworked across all cars, randomness removed, so damage is now more predictable.
What else changed for you?
Two smaller but welcome quality-of-life changes are worth a mention.- New pit lane behaviour: you now start in the pit lane instead of the garage, with fast-lane logic and penalties for driving through other teams’ pit areas. It is closer to real WEC procedure, and it is needed for the US tracks that have no drive-out garages.
- Track limits: a new calculation reduces the points you lose when you run wide but stay on the limit, and the corridors at Monza Turn 1 and Portimao have been fixed.
Is Le Mans Ultimate V1.4 worth it?
Buy the Track Pass
You want to race Daytona and Laguna Seca, run IMSA-style multiclass, and get the full US calendar as it rolls out through the year.
Skip the Track Pass
You mostly race Le Mans and the European tracks. The physics pass, online overhaul, VR support and 2026 Le Mans update are all free, so you still get the biggest changes either way.
