The Porsche 992 GT3R and Nissan GTR GT3 2018 new hybrid setups are now available, offering stability for mixed weather conditions. These setups are designed to perform reliably in both dry and wet scenarios, giving drivers the confidence needed for endurance racing.
THE PORSCHE 992 GT3R
AERODYNAMIC BALANCE
The Porsche 992 GT3R offers balanced aerodynamics, providing stability at high speeds, but its natural rotation makes it highly responsive, requiring careful handling, especially in tight corners.
POWER OUTPUT & TRACTION CONTROL
With strong rear traction, the Porsche delivers impressive turn-in capabilities, but its lively rear end requires careful control to avoid oversteer.
BRAKING EFFICIENCY
Braking can be tricky, with a tendency to lock up, making it challenging to maintain consistency during heavy braking zones.
TYRE MANAGEMENT
Prone to rear overheating, tyre management becomes crucial for maintaining performance, particularly in longer stints.
HANDLING CURBS
The Porsche 992 GT3R’s playful rear can make handling curbs risky, demanding precision to avoid instability

THE NISSAN GTR GT3 2018
AERODYNAMIC BALANCE
The Nissan GTR GT3 2018 showcases impressive speed on straights, but its braking system is less precise, especially in rainy conditions. Precise braking is required to maintain stability entering corners.
POWER OUTPUT & TRACTION CONTROL
With high engine power, the Nissan excels on straights but demands careful throttle control on corner exits, as the rear can lose stability.
BRAKING EFFICIENCY
Late braking can cause wheel lock-up, making it essential to plan braking zones carefully, particularly in the rain.
TYRE MANAGEMENT
Managing tyre temperatures is crucial, especially with the car’s sensitivity to braking and throttle application.
HANDLING CURBS
Due to the Nissan’s handling dynamics, it’s recommended to avoid curbs, as they can unsettle the car when braking or accelerating.

WHY HYBRID SETUPS ARE ESSENTIAL
Endurance races often feature unpredictable weather, transitioning from dry to wet over several hours. To address this, organisers may increase the weather variability coefficient, leading to conditions that can change mid-race. With our new Hybrid Setups, you have a configuration that works well in both dry conditions and medium rain, making it ideal for races with mixed weather.
KEY BENEFITS OF HYBRID SETUPS:
- Adaptability: Ideal for races with variable weather, especially when there is a high chance of both dry and wet conditions.
- Performance: These setups are optimised for 70% dry and 30% wet conditions, ensuring stable handling across different weather scenarios.
- Consistency: Hybrid setups offer reliable performance in medium rain when there are many cars on the track, simulating near-dry conditions. For heavy rain or thunderstorms, switching to a MED WET setup is recommended.
WHEN TO USE HYBRID SETUPS
- Mixed Weather Races: Perfect for endurance events where the weather forecast predicts a mix of dry and rainy conditions.
- Medium Rain: Ideal when there are 25-30+ cars on track, creating a visible dry line, allowing the car to handle almost like it’s in light rain.
- Avoid in Extreme Wet: Not suitable for heavy rain or thunderstorms; switch to a dedicated wet setup instead.
THE FIRST HYBRID SETUPS
We are proud to be the first to bring Hybrid Setups to the community. Our hybrid setups are designed to provide the perfect balance between dry and wet performance. With these setups, you can be confident that your car will handle well in various scenarios, giving you the edge you need on the track.
When in doubt between a full dry or wet setup, choose the Hybrid Setup to confidently handle most track scenarios.
