GT3 Hybrid Setups

These GT3 hybrid setups offer stability for mixed weather conditions, and are designed to perform reliably in both dry and wet scenarios, giving drivers the confidence needed for endurance racing.

THE AUDI R8 LMS GT3 EVO2

AERODYNAMIC BALANCE

The Audi R8 LMS GT3 EVO2 has a well-balanced aerodynamic profile, offering stability in high-speed corners. Its lightweight design allows for its ability to maintain top speed while providing solid downforce even with a high rear wing.

POWER OUTPUT & TRACTION CONTROL

Powered by a naturally aspirated V10 engine, the Audi excels in straight-line speed. However, its weaker traction control requires drivers to adapt, often leading to the need to drive with TC off for optimal performance.

BRAKING EFFICIENCY

The Audi’s braking capabilities are top-notch, delivering precise stopping power. Its lightweight frame enhances its responsiveness in braking zones, making it highly competitive.

TYRE MANAGEMENT

Despite its strengths, the car requires careful tyre management, especially over longer stints. Drivers must be mindful of wear and temperatures, particularly when running aggressive setups.

HANDLING CURBS

While its mid-engine design provides balance, the Audi demands precision when navigating curbs. Drivers must handle them with care to avoid unsettling the car, especially in tighter sections.

THE FERRARI 296 GT3

AERODYNAMIC BALANCE

The Ferrari 296 GT3 boasts a futuristic aerodynamic platform with great flexibility. At tracks like Monza, a low downforce, flat rake setup maximizes top speed, while high downforce setups at circuits like Barcelona offer precise cornering and exceptional stability.

POWER OUTPUT & TRACTION CONTROL

This car’s engine power, especially after the 2023 BOP change, demands drivers to be early on the throttle in low-speed corners. Its strong Traction Control system, adjustable between 5-6, ensures excellent grip even in wet conditions.

BRAKING EFFICIENCY

The Ferrari 296 GT3’s braking is solid and responsive, maintaining stability in corner entries while supporting aggressive driving with confidence.

TYRE MANAGEMENT & FUEL CONSUMPTION

Its efficient fuel consumption allows for lighter fuel loads, and the car handles tyre wear efficiently, particularly in endurance races. High downforce setups further aid tyre conservation over long stints.

HANDLING CURBS

The 296 GT3 handles curbs with remarkable stability due to its aerodynamic versatility. It remains sharp through corners without compromising traction, making it a solid choice on technical tracks.

WHY HYBRID SETUPS ARE ESSENTIAL

Endurance races often feature unpredictable weather, transitioning from dry to wet over several hours. To address this, organisers may increase the weather variability coefficient, leading to conditions that can change mid-race. With our new Hybrid Setups, you have a configuration that works well in both dry conditions and medium rain, making it ideal for races with mixed weather.

KEY BENEFITS OF HYBRID SETUPS:

  • Adaptability: Ideal for races with variable weather, especially when there is a high chance of both dry and wet conditions.
  • Performance: These setups are optimised for 70% dry and 30% wet conditions, ensuring stable handling across different weather scenarios.
  • Consistency: Hybrid setups offer reliable performance in medium rain when there are many cars on the track, simulating near-dry conditions. For heavy rain or thunderstorms, switching to a MED WET setup is recommended.

WHEN TO USE HYBRID SETUPS

  • Mixed Weather Races: Perfect for endurance events where the weather forecast predicts a mix of dry and rainy conditions.
  • Medium Rain: Ideal when there are 25-30+ cars on track, creating a visible dry line, allowing the car to handle almost like it’s in light rain.
  • Avoid in Extreme Wet: Not suitable for heavy rain or thunderstorms; switch to a dedicated wet setup instead.

THE FIRST HYBRID SETUPS

We are proud to be the first to bring Hybrid Setups to the community. Our hybrid setups are designed to provide the perfect balance between dry and wet performance. With these setups, you can be confident that your car will handle well in various scenarios, giving you the edge you need on the track.

When in doubt between a full dry or wet setup, choose the Hybrid Setup to confidently handle most track scenarios.
