Get ready to dominate the track with the Ferrari 296 GT3 and McLaren 720S EVO GT3 V1.10.2 update. These cars bring improved performance to Assetto Corsa Competizione, ensuring a refined racing experience.
THE FERRARI 296 GT3
The Ferrari 296 GT3, one of the latest releases from Kunos, stands out with its futuristic aerodynamic platform and impressive top speeds, making it a formidable choice for any track. The car’s excellent fuel efficiency is a significant advantage, allowing drivers to carry around 6-7% less fuel during race sessions. This efficiency is particularly beneficial in endurance races, reducing the pace drop from qualifying to the race.
The platform stability of the 296 GT3 supports a wide range of aerodynamic setups. For instance, at Monza, you can run a low downforce and flat rake setup to achieve the best top speed while maintaining excellent stability in corner entry and yaw angle gain. At Barcelona, you can use maximum rear wing and high rake, making the car sharper and more precise through corners while retaining excellent traction.
The Ferrari 296 GT3 is also a great option for novices. On high downforce circuits, running maximum rear wing makes the car forgiving to driver errors. The superb Traction Control (TC) system, with settings ranging from 5-6, provides consistent grip and confidence in low-speed corners. In wet conditions, the TC system enhances stability, making the 296 GT3 an excellent choice for all weather scenarios.
However, the engine received a massive B0P change during the 2023 SRO Esports season, especially at low speeds. This means the car requires drivers to be extremely early on the throttle to avoid losing too much time on exits.
The Ferrari 296 GT3 has been updated for all tracks, except the following which did not require an update:
- Misano
- Bathurst
- Nürburgring 24H

THE MCLAREN 720S EVO GT3
The McLaren 720S EVO GT3 has always been ahead of its time, and with the 2022 Evolution, it has become even better. The car’s engine provides perfect boost at all revs, making it one of the top performers on the straights and race starts.
The handling of the 720S EVO GT3 is excellent, with perfect stability in slow, mid, and fast corners and reliable braking. This makes it one of the best picks in the whole grid, even while running a lower rear wing. The car’s consistency across multiple conditions makes it ideal for endurance races, thanks to its excellent TC and ABS systems.
The McLaren’s TC system allows drivers to feel confident at the 1-2 TC level, though to push the car to its absolute limit in terms of lap time, it is recommended to run TC off, and mastering the 720S EVO GT3 takes time due to its peculiar platform that requires a specific driving style. Drivers must learn how to find the sweet spot during braking to allow the car to turn properly without understeering.
